NBA Point Spread - Portland Trailblazers vs. Sacramento Kings

Portland Trailblazers (+ 3.5) vs. Sacramento Kings (- 3.5)

The Trailblazers travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings. I’m somewhat surprised at this BetUS spread as the Blazers have been pretty good since getting Brandon Roy back from injury. In their last ten games Portland has gone 7 and 3 against the BetUS spread. They have a winning record against the BetUS spread on the road going 18 and 16 this season.
The Kings have gone 2-7-1 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games. But they have a good home record against the BetUS spread going 17 and 13 so far this season. Here are some other trends to look at.
The Portland Trailblazers are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games on the road.
The Portland Trailblazers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games as an underdog on the road.
The Portland Trailblazers are 2 and 6 against the spread in the last 8 meetings between these two teams.
The Underdog is 5 and 0 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
This could be a simple fact of one team, the Sacramento Kings, having the other teams’ number. Or, this could be the game where the Blazers actually come out and beat the Kings straight-up.
I still feel that the BetUS point spread is somewhat high. I do think that this will be a very close game, but the Blazers are a much better team than the Kings. While the Kings boast one scorer on their team, Kevin Martin, the Blazers have Brandon Roy and LeMarcus Aldridge. They also have Martell Webster and Von Wafer, both of which can light up the scoreboard on any given night.
Even though Sacramento is a pretty good home team against the BetUS spread, I have to take the Blazers straight-up in this game. They are the better team and Brandon Roy is quickly turning into one of the best players in the NBA.
Roy won’t let the Kings beat the Blazers in this game. Because of that I’m taking the Blazers.

I think the Blazers win this straight-up.
