NBA Playoff Betting - The Top 10 Shooters In The 2007-08 Postseason

With the 2007-08 NBA online playoff betting getting off to a fantastic start in the BetUS Sportsbook with a stirring weekend of first-round opening games, it’s time to take a look at the league’s best shooters in the BetUS Locker Room that are competing in the playoffs this postseason. These guys may or may not be all-star caliber players for their respective teams, but one thing is for sure – you don’t want to give any an open shot.

These players could literally shoot their respective teams right back into any contest no matter how big the deficit and unequivocally have to be guarded with extreme caution when it comes down to taking any game-winning shot.

Here are the top 10 shooters competing in the 2007-08 NBA playoffs:

10. Richard Hamilton

Most people may not think of the Detroit Pistons, (45-36-1 ATS) Richard Hamilton as a ‘shooter’ because he’s such an excellent mid-range threat, and doesn’t necessarily take a bunch of three-pointers. All I’ll say is that there hasn’t been a better shooter at coming off screens since Reggie Miller hung up his sneakers a couple of seasons ago. Hamilton averaged 17.3 points per game while making 44.0 percent of his threes and 48.4 percent of his two-point field goal attempts in 72 games. The Pistons are +800 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

9. Kyle Korver

Most people already know that Korver is one of the very best shooters in the entire NBA. Though he comes off the bench for head coach Jerry Sloan’s Utah Jazz, (46-36 ATS) and averages just 9.8 points per game, Korver has drained 38.8 percent of his threes this season while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. It’s no accident that the Jazz have taken off since acquiring Korver, one player no one will leave alone for an open shot. The Jazz are +900 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

8. Hedo Turkoglu

The Orlando Magic, (50-29-3 ATS) went out and signed small forward Rashard Lewis to a big money free agent contract only to watch him play second fiddle to the team’s second best player, Turkoglu. Lewis a fine shooter in his own right, has surprisingly taken a bit of a back seat to Turkoglu as he has put up 19.5 points per game while shooting 40.0 percent on threes, and 45.6 percent from the field while appearing in all 82 games. Say what you like about Turkoglu’s inconsistency prior to this season … now he’s one of the game’s deadliest shooters. The Magic are +3000 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

7. Gilbert Arenas

Call him ‘Agent Zero’ or the ‘Hibachi’ it really doesn’t matter because Arenas is going to put the ball in the hole either way. Arenas averaged 19.4 points per game for the Washington Wizards, (46-36 ATS) on 28.2 percent shooting from downtown and 39.6 percent shooting from the field in just 13 games because of a lengthy knee injury. Call him outspoken, a head case … whatever. Just don’t give Arenas any breathing room when he’s launching a shot. The Wizards are +15000 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

6. Tracy McGrady

Part shooter, part, flat-out scorer, Houston Rockets, (47-33-2 ATS) swingman Tracy McGrady can occasionally go totally unconscious despite his inability to get out of the first round of the playoffs. McGrady averaged 21.6 points per game but shot a dismal 29.2 percent from downtown and just 41.9 percent from the field in 66 games. Say what you want about McGrady’s lackluster statistics this season, all I know is that, given enough time, he can single-handedly shoot the Rockets into the win column in any game. The Rockets are +10000 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

5. Dirk Nowitzki

Although I will always feel like Dallas Mavericks, (35-43-4 ATS) power forward Dirk Nowitzki is a bit too soft for a seven-footer, the fact of the matter is that there aren’t many players on the face of the planet that can shoot the ball the way the 2006-07 league MVP can. Nowitzki averaged 23.6 points per game while making 35.9 percent of his shots from beyond the arc and 48.0 percent from the field. Soft or not, leave Nowitzki alone and he’ll make you pay – big time. The Mavericks are +3000 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

4. Steve Nash

Simply put, Nash the point guard, is a better than most of the shooting guards in the NBA. The Phoenix Suns, (39-40-3 ATS) two-time MVP averaged 16.9 points per game while making an amazing 47.0 percent of his three-pointers and 50.4 percent of his field goal attempts while playing in 81 games. Nash’s statistics are off the chart and so is his ability to knock down shots. The Suns are +1100 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

3. Kobe Bryant

Most people may not think of Los Angeles Lakers, (47-33-1 ATS) star Kobe Bryant as a ‘shooter’ as much as they think of him as a flat-out ‘scorer.’ However, all I will say is that Bryant, who averaged 28.3 points per game while shooting 36.1 percent from three-point distance and 45.9 percent from the field, is a dead-eye shooter who will drill a game-winning jumper with three guys hanging all over him. Leaving him open is not an option. The Lakers are +250 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

2. Peja Stojakovic

While the lion’s share of national media attention surrounding the New Orleans Hornets, (50-30-2 ATS) has gone to MVP candidate point guard Chris Paul or even fellow all-star, power forward David West, the fact of the matter is that Stojakovic’s ability to consistently hit the outside shot has been a huge plus for both Paul and West as he constantly draws defenders away from the basket with his outside shooting ability. ‘Sky Peja’ averaged 16.3 points per game during the regular season while shooting a spectacular 44.2 percent from three-point distance. The Hornets are +1200 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.

1. Ray Allen

Allen averaged just 17.4 points per game while making 39.9 percent of his three-pointers for a Boston Celtics, (52-28-2 ATS) team intent on winning the NBA title.

This season marks the first time in the last nine seasons that Allen has failed to averaged at least 20 points per game, but despite sacrificing some of his offense for the betterment of his team, Allen is undeniably the best shooter on the face of the planet and the one player no one in the league wants to give a game-winning three-pointer to. The Celtics are +140 to win the NBA Championship in the BetUS Sportsbook.
