NBA Online Playoff Basketball Betting - Nuggets vs. Lakers

Denver Nuggets (+ 8.5) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (- 8.5)

The Denver Nuggets will look to bounce back from a fourteen point loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in game two of their first-round playoff series. The online basketball betting line is actually where I thought it might be. Even though the Lakers ended up beating the Nuggets by double-digits in their first game, the Nuggets played very well in the first half. The BetUS sports book has no doubt taken this into account by making the Lakers a tepid, in this case, 8.5 point favorites at home for game two.

The Nuggets will need to find a way to sustain the energy they displayed early in the first game of this playoff series. The Nuggets looked good early and then looked bad late. If they play that type of game again, then I doubt we will be getting a basketball betting line of less then 8.5 on the Nuggets in the next game. Of course, if the Nuggets end up playing horribly in the second half of this game, then there won’t be a reason to even think about the Nuggets any longer. Let’s take a look at a few trends.

The Denver Nuggets are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games on a Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a team from the Western Conference.

The Over is 6 and 1 in the Denver Nuggets last 7 games playing on two days of rest.

The Under is 7 and 3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Los Angeles.

The BetUS online betting page has the over/under listed as 229 points. That translates to about 114 points for each team. I’m not sure if I like the over or the under in this case. My personal sports gambling rules tell me that a visiting team like the Nuggets in a playoff game against the Lakers shouldn’t score more than 108 points. But, the Nuggets did in fact score 114 points in the last game between these two teams. Unfortunately for the Nuggets, the Lakers scored 128.

Still, I don’t want to tempt fate. The BetUS online gambling line of Lakers – 8.5 to beat the Nuggets looks very doable to me. There’s a good chance that the Nuggets will play worse in this game then they did in the first game of this series. That’s where I’m going to go.
