NBA Betting Odds - Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets

The Grizzlies are horrible. As harsh as that sounds, it’s the truth. Not only are they a fantastically bad straight-up team, with a record of 15 and 48 on the season, they are one of the worst teams in the NBA against the BetUS spread. The Grizzlies are 25-37-1 overall and 12-17-1 on the road. This team is horrible.
The Denver Nuggets aren’t that stellar against the BetUS spread either. The Nuggets are only 32 and 31 against the BetUS spread on the year. At home they are a somewhat better 19 and 13. In their past 10 games the Nuggets have gone 4 and 6 against the BetUS spread. Here are more trends.
The Memphis Grizzlies are 6 and 20 against the spread in their last 26 games as an underdog.
The Denver Nuggets are 11 and 4 in their last 15 home games.
The Memphis Grizzlies are 1 and 5 against the spread in their last 6 games between these two teams in Denver.
The Favorite is 7 and 2 against the spread in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
Every single trend points to the Nuggets dominating the Grizzlies in this game. I’d try to make a case for the Grizzlies, but I just can’t. The fact that Denver lost a very close, tough game to the San Antonio Spurs in their last will only add to the fire that the Grizzlies are likely to encounter tonight.
The Memphis Flyer, a local newspaper in Tennessee, recently ran a story on the Grizzlies being the Washington Generals of the NBA. I can’t argue with that either. I’m not sure what the Grizzlies management team is thinking as keeping Rudy Gay was a smart decision but getting rid of Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown was a disaster waiting to happen.
I actually feel bad for Rudy Gay. He has enough talent to be a star in this league, but unless they put some talent around him - - and fast - - his star is going to burn out before it gets a chance to brighten.
The Grizzlies have no chance to keep this game close tonight. The Nuggets know that the season is quickly coming to a close. If they have any chance of making a run in the playoffs, they need to start making statements in games like these - - against suspect teams at home.
