NBA Odds - Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns
By D.S. Williamson
Golden State Warriors (+ 5) vs. Phoenix Suns (- 5)
Tip-off: 10:30 pm EST.
Could the Phoenix Suns be on a roll? They’ve covered the BetUS NBA spread in their last two games by beating the San Antonio Spurs this past Sunday 94 to 87 and then by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 132 to 111 two days ago. The best thing about this for Suns’ fans is the fact that Phoenix played a defensive game versus the Spurs and won and then played a run and gun game versus the Grizzlies and won. That should put fear into the hearts of the rest of the NBA.
As far as Golden State is concerned, they’ve been okay against the BetUS basketball spread lately going 6 and 4 in their last 10 games. For the season, the Warriors are 28 and 35 overall. On the road, Golden State has gone 16 and 15 this season. Here some other trends.
The Golden State Warriors are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 overall games.
The Phoenix Suns are 3-8-1 against the spread in their last 12 games as a favorite at home.
The Home Team is 6 and 2 against the spread in the last 8 meetings between these two teams.
The Underdog is 6 and 1 against the spread in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
We’re getting mixed messages from these trends. Phoenix has been terrible against the spread this season, going a ridiculous 29-33-2. That’s not good because, based on their straight-up record, the Suns should be much better against the BetUS spread.
Maybe things are finally turning around for the Suns. They proved against Memphis that they have no problems playing in an up-tempo game. That means that if Golden State pushes the ball up the court, Phoenix isn’t going to freak out. They don’t have to slow things down for Shaq, but can use Shaq to match-up with other teams’ big men.
Granted it’s only been two games since the Suns have shown themselves to be a force in the Western Conference, but this happens to teams in the NBA. Once they start to gel, like the way the Lakers did with Pau Gasol, teams stay good for a very long time.
Maybe, that’s what the Suns are starting to do - - gel.
The BetUS NBA gambling line is Phoenix Suns – 5 against the spread at home versus the Golden State Warriors.
The Suns appear to be putting things together. I like them to continue this mini-roll that they are on and to cover the 5 point spread.
