NBA Odds – Expect Cavs’ King James To Hold Court In New York

by Eric Williams

The Cleveland Cavaliers, (34-26 SU, 28-32 ATS, 29-29-2 O/U), rode the coattails of superstar LeBron James all the way to the NBA Finals last season – and James is reminding everyone this season just how special a player he truly is.

"It's just a comfort level I'm in right now that's at an all-time high," James said after Sunday's 95-86 win over Chicago.

James, the league’s leading scorer, has done it all for the Cavaliers this season and has helped the new-look Cavaliers to win consecutive games coming into this matchup, including a convincing 95-86 win over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, scoring six consecutive points late in the game to help seal the deal.

"I just live for the fourth quarter," said James, the league's leading scorer at 30.3 points per game. "When the games are close, that's when I like to do work. We were just able to take the life out of them."

The New York Knicks, (18-42 SU, 29-30-1 ATS, 35-25 O/U), have bee so atrocious this season, they would need three LeBron’s just to get back to mediocrity.

New York has dropped three straight games coming into tonight’s contest, including a lopsided 100-88 road loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Monday.

Knicks head coach Isiah Thomas played the team’s younger players much more than normal against the Hornets in what could be a precursor of coming events with the woeful franchise.

Cleveland has gone 5-5 against the spread in their last ten but are 2-1 ATS in their last three games while the Knicks are 5-4-1 against the spread in their last ten but have dropped two straight games against the spread.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games.

The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games.

The Knicks are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a SU loss of more than ten points.

The Knicks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a ATS loss.

The Over is 5-0-1 in Cavaliers last six road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

The Over is 8-1 in Knicks last nine vs. Eastern Conference.

The Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

The Cavaliers are 2-8 ATS in the last ten meetings.

Analysis: Get real NBA bettors! This is a game the Cavaliers would likely win and cover without James on the roster. Take the Cavaliers to win going away.
