By Charles Jay
WHO: Detroit Pistons (39-14 SU, 30-22-1 ATS) at Milwaukee Bucks (19-34 SU, 23-29-1 ATS)
WHERE: Bradley Center in Milwaukee
WHEN: Wednesday, February 20 at 8 PM ET
BetUS NBA basketball betting odds: DETROIT -6.5, Total 188.5
In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:
* DET has won the last five meetings SU
* Ten of the last 14 meetings have gone OVER the total
* DET has won four of the last five meetings SU as the road team
* Seven of the last ten meetings have gone OVER the total
* Five of the last six meetings in Milwaukee have gone OVER the total
* The road team has covered four of the last six meetings
* MIL has had the shooting edge in four of the last six meetings
* DET has had the rebounding edge in six of the last seven meetings
* DET has made more three-pointers in six of the last eight meetings
Detroit has yielded 89.8 points per game. The Pistons have chalked up 7.5 steals a game. Also:
* DET has covered two of its last six games
* DET has won 10 of its last 11 games SU
* DET has covered one of its last seven road games
* DET has won 14 of its last 19 road games SU
Milwaukee has allowed its opponents to shoot 47.2% from the field, which is 29th in the NBA. The Bucks are turning the ball over 14.3 times a game. Also:
* MIL has lost seven of its last eight games SU
* MIL has played four of its last five games OVER the total
* MIL has covered five of its last 15 home games
* MIL has lost four of its last five home games SU
The Pistons obviously can't be happy about the way they played against the Magic, essentially losing the game before the third quarter ended. Rasheed Wallace finished with 10 points, and Rip Hamilton had 12, and those were the only two members of Detroit's starting lineup to reach double figures. And Detroit hit just two of 14 shots from beyond the arc.
Since Detroit has won 14 of its last 19 road games, and allow just 93 ppg away from home (1st in the NBA), that anger should manifest itself. Milwaukee is one of the few teams that appears too far out of the playoff chase in the Eastern Conference to make up any meaningful ground, and the Bucks haven't come within miles of the Pistons in this season's meetings, dropping games by margins of 26 and 45 points.
Expect Detroit to shoot much better tonight then they did last night (38.6%) against a Milwaukee team that is surrendering 47.2% from the field. Everyone converts here.
We'll lay the chalk with Detroit, the 6.5-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
