NBA Hoops Betting - Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New Jersey Nets

Both clubs will look to jockey for playoff position this evening when the (37-27) Cleveland Cavaliers invade Jersey to take on the (26-38) New Jersey Nets. Cleveland’s currently the proud owner of the #4 seed in the East and they currently sit 9.5 games in back of the Central Division leading Detroit Pistons. Cleveland finds themselves one game under .500 on the road at 16-17 SU, but they’ve been a solid proposition as an under dog winning 19 of those 33 contests ATS. The Nets find themselves a half game out of the #8 seed in the East and a whopping 25 games in back of the Atlantic Division leading Boston Celtics. New Jersey sports a 15-17 SU mark at home, but they’ve been simply dreadful ATS in their own house amassing an 11-20-1 mark.

We last saw Lebron and the Cavs on Monday night when they upended the Portland Trailblazers by an 88-80 final count. The 8-point victory was just enough to secure the home win and cover as 5.5-point home chalks, and the combined points scored fell comfortably ‘Under’ the closing number of 187. The win was their second in a row, and 8th in their L/10 overall contests.

New Jersey was just one of many that succumbed to the Houston Rockets sensational winning streak their last time out. They fell by a 91-73 final count and failed to cover the 11-point spread. The loss was the squads 6th in a row and 8th in their L/10 overall. To make matters worse, the Nets have only managed two covers in their last 10 tries and enter tonight’s contest with the Cavs losers of six straight ATS.

The Cavs are the decided favorite in tonight’s contest as Vegas tagged them 4-point road chalk with the ‘total’ set at 188.5. You can get down on both the side and ‘total’ for this game at BetUS.com right now.

Cleveland is a combined 38-23 ATS (62%) on the road vs. sub .500 non-divisional Eastern conference opponents, while the Nets come in a combined 19-30 ATS (39%) at home vs. +.500 non-divisional Eastern conference opponents. However shockingly, the Nets have gotten the best of Lebron and company this season by winning both of their December match-ups. They embarrassed the Cavs 100-79 as 1.5-point road chalks in early December, and followed that effort up with another win just 10 days later as 3-point home underdogs. Cleveland has had its problems in New Jersey winning just 3 of their L/10 meetings ATS, but Jersey is in a state of turmoil and ripe for the taking.
