NBA Furious Free Picks 2008 – Pacers Hit The Road To Philly

As much as everyone in the sportsbook basketball betting community wants to knock the Pacers for their season, they’ve actually been playing well recently. Indiana has gone 4-2 ATS and 5-1 SU in their last six games. Most of this is thanks to the unexpected production from Troy Murphy. Danny Granger has been steady the entire season, but Jermaine O’Neal looks like he’s completely shaken off the injury that hindered his season earlier on.
Scoring isn’t the problem for Indiana. They score 103.8 points per game and wolf down 43.4 rebounds per game. But defense is killing them. They get blown apart for 105.4 points per game, even though only one opponent has crested the 100-point mark against them in the last five games.
Philadelphia has leveled out somewhat, going 3-2 SU in the past five games. Glaring losses to Cleveland and Atlanta are making the betting community wonder if they have the mustard to stand tall in big games. But the 101-94 victory over Detroit should squash those nasty doubts.
The UNDER, at least, is a safe bet tonight. Indiana has hit the UNDER in 5 of their last 5 games, while Philadelphia has pushed the UNDER in 10 of their last 15 games at Wachovia center.
The Philadelphia homers have been profiting big off of Philadelphia with a 13-5 ATS in their last 18 home games. And it’s hard to think that Indiana, which has gone 2-4-1 ATS in their last 7 road games, can stop the Six-train at home. The Pacers need to win their next four games to have a chance at playoff glory. Fat chance.
