NBA Betting Free Picks - Injury Riddled Wiz Take On Red-Hot Hornets
By Eric Williams
While the Washington Wizards, (26-29 SU, 32-23 ATS, 28-27 O/U), are an injury-riddled bunch just struggling to stay afloat with their fading postseason hopes in the Eastern Conference, the New Orleans Hornets, (37-17 SU, 32-21-1 ATS, 26-28 O/U), are trying to find a new balance after their roster-altering trade recently.
The Wizards come into this matchup having won just two of their last ten games, but managed to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 110-95 on Saturday. Washington is playing without all-stars Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler and may not have either player in the rotation any time soon.
"We're trying to get guys to close games out," said head coach Eddie Jordan. "The guys who are on the floor - that's not their role. It's their role now because that's what they have to do. We have to get wins when people don't expect us to get it."
After knocking off Southwest division rival Dallas in its first game following the All-Star break, the Hornets have dropped two straight against top of the top teams in the western conference, falling 100-80 against Houston on Friday and 98-89 at San Antonio on Saturday.
"We knew this was going to be a tough stretch out of the All-Star break, but I liked the energy we came out with against Dallas," said All-Star forward David West. "Then we weren't able to do that tonight. We couldn't do that last night."
The Hornets have lost three straight games only twice this season and will be looking to avoid another three-game losing streak against the Wizards who are just 2-8 in their lat ten games.
Washington has been one of the best ATS teams in the league this season and have managed to go 5-5 ATS despite their dismal straight up record.
New Orleans has been one of the top ATS teams in the league nearly all season but is a miserable 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by m analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks.
The Wizards are 4-0 ATS in their last four Monday games.
The Wizards are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.
The Hornets are 4-0 ATS in their last four vs. NBA Southeast.
The Hornets are 4-1 ATS in their last five vs. Eastern Conference.
The Over is 4-0 in Wizards last four games following a S.U. win.
The Over is 7-1 in Hornets last eight home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
The Home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
The Wizards are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in New Orleans.
Analysis: While the Wizards have made a habit of covering the spread despite while being the underdog more often than not, I like the Hornets to turn it up a notch against the Wizards who play absolutely no defense whatsoever. Take the Hornets to roll NBA Betting Community.
