NBA Free Picks 2008 – Cleveland Visits Bumbling Bulls

Cleveland Cavaliers (43-35) vs. Chicago Bulls (30-48)

Friday, April 11th --- United Center, Chicago --- 7:00pm

NBA Betting Line: Cleveland -4.5 (197)

Nobody, and I mean nobody in online basketball gaming community, expected Cleveland to be this mediocre after that massive trade brought in the “help” that Lebron supposedly needed. Cleveland has been awful in the last two weeks, going 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games and 1-6 SU in their last 7 games on the road. This is no way to build momentum heading in to the playoffs, especially with the way that Boston, Detroit and the rest of the East is firing up lately.

Chicago, on the other hand, is expectedly terrible. Drew Gooden is still nursing an abdominal injury, but it’s hard to imagine that The Big Chin Strap would have a huge effect on Chicago’s win/loss column. Chicago is 1-5 ATS in their past five games at home, 2-4 SU in their last six games as a host and they look absolutely terrible. However, they are 4-2 ATS in their last six games against Cleveland, so there’s reason to hope.

Of course, everyone will be pointing the finger to Chicago’s 101-98 victory over Cleveland a week ago. And you know what? I’m totally against that notion. Chicago has been stinking the joint up worse than two girls, one cup and a bag of Mexican takeout. Sure they play confidently against Cleveland, but the last blowout of New Jersey has me thinking that Cleveland will edge the Bulls tonight.

Chicago has lost three straight, and are definitely looking to improve their chances in the lottery. I’m not exactly saying that they’re tanking it, but they did lose to Miami. Cleveland is fighting for a favorable playoff spot and that should motivate them enough to climb over the Bulls and win by a fair margin.
