NBA Betting - Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns

Utah Jazz (+ 5) vs. Phoenix Suns (- 5)

Tip-off: 9:05 pm EST.

Two Western Conference powerhouses face off tonight in the Valley of the Sun. Who’s going to break first? The BetUS NBA Betting line appears somewhat out of whack as the Phoenix Suns sport an 11-18-1 home record against the BetUS spread. The Suns have gone 5 and 5 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games. This includes a 13 point loss to the Denver Nuggets just two days ago.

The Utah Jazz has a 13 and 19 record against the BetUS spread away from Salt Lake City. In their past 10 games, the Jazz has gone 6 and 4 against the BetUS spread. Let’s take a look at few other trends:

The Utah Jazz is 8 and 1 against the spread in their last 9 games against a team with a winning straight-up record.

The Utah Jazz is 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 overall games.

The Utah Jazz is 5 and 0 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Phoenix.

The Utah Jazz is 6-2-1 against the spread in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.

All of the trends favor the Jazz. It makes sense as the Jazz look like a difficult team for the Suns to deal with. The key in this game will be the Suns’ front-court versus the Jazz’s front-court. The Jazz have two inside guys that can cause Phoenix problems, Mehmut Okur and Carlos Boozer. With both big men healthy for this game, expect terrific Utah point-guard Deron Williams to test both Shaq and Amare in the middle of that Phoenix defense.

Williams and Nash cancel each other out with Williams actually getting the upper-hand because of youth and strength. Now that Nash has one less option in the Phoenix run attack, Williams can easily keep up with the Phoenix point-guard. Williams might even try to take Nash on the blocks a couple of times.

The loss of Andrei Kirilenko will hurt the Jazz, but they have too much up-front and one terrific player in the back-court to fail in this game. Five points is just too many to give up to a team like the Utah Jazz.

The BetUS NBA Betting line is Utah Jazz + 5 against the spread on the road versus the Phoenix Suns.

The Jazz are the better team in this situation. The have more talent now that Shawn Marion has taken his game to Miami. I expect the Jazz to do most of the running into tonight’s game.

A straight-up win is not out of the question for the Utah Jazz.
