NBA Wagering Action - Mavericks (+ 3) vs. Jazz (- 3)

Dallas travels to Utah to take on a Jazz team that hasn’t been as impressive as I thought they might. They’re only 15 and 14 on the year so far. I expected much more from this team at the beginning of the year and I have to admit that I am disappointed. They are neither stellar nor horrible against the spread and that makes them a difficult team to handicap.
In any case, as the NBA betting trends show below, the Jazz probably will put a win in their column tonight:
The Utah Jazz are 15-5-1 against the spread in their last 21 games at home.
The Dallas Mavericks are 1-7-1 against the spread in their last meetings against the Jazz in Utah.
The HOME team is 14-3-1 against the spread in the last 18 meetings between these two teams.
I can’t go against the two most powerful trends regarding this game tonight. The Dallas Mavericks just aren’t a very good road team while the Utah Jazz are a terrific home team.
That’s a very powerful trend. It says a lot about where both of these teams are in terms of the Western Conference. Neither team is dominant this year and both teams can win this game.
In that case take the home team who sports the most favorable trends and who doesn’t have to travel after a holiday. That, I believe, will be a huge factor tonight. Dallas has to travel while Utah can sleep off its Christmas hangover.
I have to go with the Jazz in this one.
