NBA Betting - Orlando Magic (- 6) vs. Sacramento Kings (+ 6)
By D.S. Williamson
Orlando travels to Sacramento in my pick of the night. There is no question that the Kings are a good team at home, but after taking a look at the trends below, the Magic become a stand-out.
Here are those trends:
The Orlando Magic are 21-5-2 against the spread in their last 28 road games.
The Orlando Magic are 6-2 against the spread in their last 8 games versus a team from the NBA Pacific.
The Orlando Magic 30-14-2 against the spread in their last 46 games overall.
The Magic are heads and tails above the Sacramento Kings in very phase of the game. Even though the Kings are always a “tough-out” at home, they don’t have nearly the firepower that the Orlando Magic has.
The Magic comes at you with Dwight Howard, maybe the MVP of the league this season, and unless you have somebody who can at least get in his way, like say Amare Stoudemire or Andrew Bynum, Howard is going to dunk all over you all day.
The Kings have nobody close to Howard’s ability. Ron Artest, their best defensive player, is out of this game. That means that Howard runs and dunks all over these guys. He also blocks shots too.
Coming off of two close losses versus the Houston Rockets and New Jersey Nets, expect the Magic to come out in the first quarter and drop bombs on the Sacramento Kings. They will try to run more in the game and that should help them versus a Kings’ team that itself is coming off of road losses versus the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Magic by 10 to 16 points in this affair.
The BetUS line is Orlando Magic – 6 against the spread on the road versus the Sacramento Kings.
I like the Magic to cover in this game.
