NBA Betting Trends – Atlanta Hawks at New Orleans Hornets

While the New Orleans Hornets, (40-19 SU, 35-23-1 ATS, 27-31-1 O/U), are in the midst of what could be considered the most surprising season for any team in the NBA this season – and are clearly legitimate western conference title contenders, the Atlanta Hawks, (25-34 SU, 28-30-1 ATS, 27-32 O/U), have struggled more than they could have ever expected after acquiring veteran point guard Mike Bibby to help lead this team to its first postseason appearance in over a decade.
The Hawks have won just three of their last ten games and are a pathetic 3-6 since acquiring Bibby from the Sacramento Kings for Shelden Williams and a big bag of trinkets. The Hawks were beaten at home by the Golden State Warriors 135-118 on Tuesday and have dropped two consecutive games coming into tonight’s contest.
The Hornets, on the other hand, have won six of their last ten, including a convincing 100-88 win over the New York Knicks last night. New Orleans is just two games behind the San Antonio Spurs in the Southwest division and in third place in the tight western conference postseason race.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

Analysis: The Hawks have been soundly beaten in five of their last seven losses and should be more fodder for the Hornets tonight as New Orleans likely realizes the importance of winning every game they can from here on out.
