NBA Betting Seattle Supersonics vs. Golden State Warriors

The Sonics travel down the coast to Oakland to take on the Warriors tonight. In their last 10 games the Sonics have gone 6 and 4 against the BetUS spread. That’s pretty good for what amounts to one of the worst teams in the NBA. They lost by 13 points to Golden State the last time these two teams met, but the Sonics are getting an extra point in this game. Will it be enough? Maybe as the Golden State Warriors are terrible against the BetUS spread. They’ve gone 3 and 7 in their last 10 games.

The Seattle Supersonics are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games on the road.
The Seattle Supersonics are 9 and 2 against the spread in their last 11 games versus a team from the Western Conference.
The Golden State Warriors are 7 and 1 against the spread in their last 8 games versus a team with a straight-up losing record.
The Golden State Warriors are 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 games on a Tuesday night.
The trends are all over the place in this game. When that happens, it is important to look at the BetUS line from different points-of-view. Donyell Marshall, Damien Wilkins, and Chris Wilcox are all questionable tonight. That may account for the large spread.
But that can’t account for everything. The point is that the Golden State Warriors have lost against the BetUS spread in 7 out of their last 10 games. For the season, the Warriors are 23 and 32 against the spread. So why are they giving up 14 points tonight?
I don’t think they should. I believe that Golden State is the better team but we’re talking about a 7 basket difference here. That’s a big difference to shoot for if you are Golden State. The Warriors rarely cover as it is. What chance do they have of covering against a Western Conference rival and giving up so many points?
I’m going to put my money on the Sonics.
