NBA Betting Power Poll Week 19 Part 2

(CURRENT) (TEAM) (W/L OVERALL & W/L FOR WEEK) (ATS RECORD) (LAST WEEKS RANK)

16) Washington (29-31/2-1) (35-25 ATS) (LW: 19) The Wizards are still hanging around even though they’ve been without the services of All Star guard Gilbert Arenas all season and Caron Butler for the L/13 games. They churned out another winning week with victories over Chicago and New Orleans, but got pasted by Orlando their last time out. This club has been pointspread gold all season long, and should continue to be just that with a very manageable upcoming schedule.

17) Chicago Bulls (25-36/2-2) (27-34 ATS) (LW: 21) The mediocre Bulls churned out another .500 week with wins against Memphis and Cleveland at home coupled with losses to the Wizards and Cavs. Last Friday night’s loss at home against Washington was monumental. They held an 18-point lead at the break, and got outscored 23-1 to start the third quarter and eventually lost by a 97-91 final count. The new look line-up is still feeling each other out, and Gordon and Deng finally look to be coming around. That said, this team has disappointed so many times already this season when it looked like they turned it around.

18) Portland Trailblazers (31-30/1-2) (29-29 ATS) (LW: 17) Injuries have played a role with the Blazers decline, but Man oh man, it’s been a sight to see this club’s fall from grace. That 13-game winning streak must feel like ages ago for HC McMillan and company. On top of that, they’ve sent their backers to the poorhouse as they’ve only managed an ATS win in 5 of their L/20 overall. Yikes!!!!!

19) Atlanta Hawks (25-35/1-3) (28-31-1 ATS) (LW: 18) The Hawks offense certainly has taken off with the arrival of mike Bibby (106 PPG L/5), but what the heck has happened to the defense. They’ve allowed their opponent to reach the 100-point plateau in 7 of their L/10 overall which has made Over bettors happy cashing in 6 of the L/10, but Head Coach Mike Woodson can’t be happy about it. Still they’re only a couple games out of the 8th seed and have a couple winnable games on their schedule this week.

20) Sacramento Kings (27-34/1-3) (31-29 ATS) (LW: 16) The Kings continue to plummet in the standings and it looks as if it won’t be long until they’re eliminated from post-season play altogether. The only thing they can brag about this week is a home win and cover against the Heat, and that’s not saying much. They even lost to the Clippers for crying out loud!!!

21) New Jersey (26-35/1-3) (23-36-2 ATS) (LW: 20) I think Nets management made a big mistake by not blowing up this team fully. Sending out Kidd wasn’t enough. The often injured Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter will get you wins on occasion, but they’re not enough to turn the Nets back into a contender like they once were. A loss to Memphis clearly signals to me that this team is done and will look to retool its roster in the off-season.

22) Charlotte Bobcats (22-39/3-1) (26-34-1 ATS) (LW: 25) The Bobcats won 3 of their 4 games SU this past week and made their backers some coin in the process by covering all four games. Jason Richardson’s reentry into the starting line-up has seen the offense explode. It’s scored 100 points or more in each of the L/4 games he’s started and played extended minutes.

23) Milwaukee Bucks (23-38/1-3) (28-32 ATS) (LW: 22) The Bucks followed up last weeks positive mark with a 1-3 SU & 2-2 ATS mark. Milwaukee has been a major disappointment in the Central Division from Day 1, and they’ll just continue to play out the string in hopes of cashing in big in the lottery.

24) Indiana Pacers (24-38/2-2) (29-33 ATS) (LW: 24) The Pacers have been a tough team to read all season long, and it looks as if that will continue throughout the rest of the season. Still, a post-season bid is in the cards playing in the mediocre Eastern Conference. They split all four of their games this week, but returned a profit for their backers by going 3-1 ATS.

25) Minnesota Timberwolves (12-48/0-4) (28-32 ATS) (LW: 23) Last weeks tough slate really took it out of the Timberwolves as they managed to go 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS against a much lighter slate of opponents this week. Their home loss to Seattle had to be a tough one to swallow for this young club, but let’s face it, this club just isn’t NBA worthy right now. Get as much experience as possible and turn the page towards next season….

26) Seattle Supersonics (16-45/1-3) (30-30-1 ATS) (LW: 26) Another horrendous week for the Sonics who lost to Miami at home to allow the Heat to pick up their first road victory since December 9th when they upended the Clippers in the Staples Center. They’re at Philly, Indiana, Toronto, and Boston this week and should consider themselves very lucky if they match last week’s 1-3 SU mark.

27) NY Knicks (18-43/0-4) (29-31-1 ATS) (LW: 27) Another weeks gone by, and the Knicks are still stuck on 18 victories for the season. It’s such a shame what happened to this once proud franchise. NY used to be a bunch of bullies that could flat out ball. Now, they’re the laughing stock of the league. On top of that, they’re backers (if any are out there0 have been losing money hand over fist as they’ve only managed to cover 3 of their L/10 overall. Sad state of affairs in the “Big Apple”.

28) LA Clippers (20-39/1-3) (26-33 ATS) (LW: 29) The Clip Joint pulled a rabbit out of its hat to steal a win in overtime against the Kings their last time out, but that’s where the party ends. Detroit, Denver, and Philly rolled them up in their other three contests to churn out yet another losing week. Only 23 more games and this nightmare of a season is over.

29) Miami Heat (11-48/1-3) (20-38-1 ATS) (LW: 28) Finally!!! They did it!!! The Heat picked up a road win for the first time in nearly three months. At the rate they’re going though, we’ll have to wait till next season for them to get their next one.

30) Memphis Grizzles (14-43/0-3) (24-32-1 ATS) (LW: 30) I never thought I’d ever see this club live and in person during my lifetime, but I was dragged to the UC for skybox seats this past Tuesday night. It’s a good thing we were so high up because this club stinks out loud. Even from the highest seats in the house.
