NBA Wagering - Orlando Magic vs. Dallas Mavericks
by D.S. Williamson
Some NBA bettors look at this game and might feel that it is a preview of the NBA Finals. I’m not one of those guys. I don’t think either one of these teams have exactly what’s needed to make it to the Finals, but, then again, I was all over the Mavs at the beginning of the year.
Dallas just doesn’t have the right mix to get out of the Western Conference. I’ll write more about that after showing these trends:
The Orlando Magic are 20-6-2 against the spread in their last 28 road games.
The Orlando Magic are 25-9-2 against the spread in their last 36 overall games.
The Dallas Mavericks are 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 home games.
It looks to me like the Orlando Magic has a decided edge over the Dallas Mavericks in this game. They are getting points against a team who hasn’t been playing all that well at home. The Magic are also very good against the spread overall and on the road.
I also love the fact that the Magic are coming off of a loss while the Mavericks are coming off of two straight wins. But I have to admit that the biggest reason that the Magic look solid in this spot is because of, you guessed it, Dwight Howard.
The Mavs have no inside presence capable of containing Howard. A free Howard means bad things for the Mavs. I think Howard is going to have a monster game tonight. So big, in fact, that I’m thinking that the Magic win this one outright.
I like the NBA money-line in this game.
The BetUS basketball line is Orlando Magic + 5.5 against the spread versus the Dallas Mavericks.
I like the Magic to cover.
The BetUS money-line in this game is Orlando Magic + 190 to win this game outright versus the Dallas Mavericks.
I like this wager even more. The Dallas Mavericks have no chance of stopping Dwight Howard tonight, should bounce off of those two good wins, and the Magic continue to be one of the most solid NBA teams against the spread.
The Magic won’t lose two straight games to inferior teams.
I’m going with the Magic money-line in this game.
