NBA Wagering - Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs

Los Angeles Clippers (+ 15.5) vs. San Antonio Spurs (- 15.5)

The San Antonio Spurs have covered against the BetUS spread in their last 4 straight games after going 0 and 6 in their six games before. This has to be one of the strangest 4 and 6 records against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games that I have ever seen. The question is whether or not the Spurs can overcome such a huge point spread. Out of the 4 straight games the Spurs have covered, the most points they’ve had to give up is 11 against the Sacramento Kings.
The Clippers, of course, are just awful. They actually beat the BetUS spread last night against the Dallas Mavericks by losing by 13 points. The BetUS line ended up at 13.5 points. Hey, a win against the spread is a win against the spread, right? In their last 10 games the Clips have gone 3 and 7 against the BetUS spread.
Here are more trends.
The Los Angeles Clippers are 3 and 8 against the spread in their last 11 games overall.
The San Antonio Spurs are 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 games as a favorite.
The Under is 19-7-3 in the last 29 meetings between these two teams.
The Over is 5-2-2 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams in San Antonio.
This is a difficult game to handicap. The reason is, according to the betting trends, neither the Spurs nor the Clips have an advantage in this game. The BetUS over/under in this game is 183.5. That equates to about 91 points per team.
The under actually looks good in this game as I do not believe the Clippers will sniff 91 points. The Spurs may not either as covering four games in a row means that the Spurs are due for a letdown.
How much of a letdown against one of the worst teams, if not the worst team, in the NBA is the question. There is absolutely no way I can give up the 15.5 to a Spurs team that is only 17-15-2 against the BetUS spread at home. The Spurs only beat the Clips by 7 points the last time these two teams met. I don’t see things changing all that much in this game.
Why not take a stab with a small parlay wager? Clippers on the under. That’s where I’m going.
