Orlando continues to run behind Dwight Howard, the new Superman of the NBA. Sorry Shaq, but we’d rather have a Man of Steel who can actually fly than one who can barely leave his feet. The Magic have been just that for their betting faithful by going 4-1 ATS in their past 5 games. Couple that with the fact that they are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games against Jersey, and you have a mortal lock to pad your betting bankroll tonight.

The Nets are 5-2 SU in their past 7 games, mostly because Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter have been going bananas since J-Kidd’s departure. They have to if the Nets expect to win games. With no viable options down low, Skywalker and VC have been blowing up on the scoreboard to lead the Nets to a 3-2 SU record in their past 5 games. But this Nets team has zero chance of toppling the Magic.

They matchup horribly against Dwight Howard, who has 21.8 points per game, 14.5 rebounds and 2.43 blocks per game. Fourteen rebounds! Who in the hell is going to guard him from Jersey? Aside from that, the under mentioned Rashard Lewis continues to earn about 2% of his ridiculous salary by chipping 18.2 points per game and 5.1 boards. I’m not saying that’s bad, but it’s not worth what Orlando is paying him. These two monsters will counteract anything that Vince and Jefferson try to do on the court.

Despite their recent surge, they are just 7-14 SU in their past 21 games and while Orlando plays much worse on the road, I like they way they match up against the Nets. The total has gone in the UNDER in five-of-five when New Jersey and Orlando play each other. This is an open and shut case.
