NBA Betting Free Picks – Portland Trailblazers at Cleveland Cavaliers
By Eric Williams
The Portland Trail Blazers, (33-30 SU, 33-30 ATS, 26-36-1 O/U), are trying to get back to the winning ways that once made them the hottest team in the entire NBA earlier this season and have won two consecutive games coming into tonight’s showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers, (36-27 SU, 30-33 ATS, 31-30-2 O/U), including a thrilling 120-114 overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Saturday.
The Blazers will face a tall task tonight in trying to stop the Cavaliers’ LeBron James who is on a roll of epic proportions at the moment, averaging a mind-blowing 41.0 points in four games this month, while draining over 41 percent of his three-pointers during the span.
Cleveland has won its last five games at Quicken Loans Arena and enters tonight’s matchup coming off a solid 103-95 win over the fading Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
The Blazers have also won four of their last six games in the BetUS.com Sportsbook and a trying to resuscitate their season gone awry because if injuries.
"We don't feel like we're out of the playoffs yet," said young power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. "Also, I think we're trying to finish this season off good. We know if we don't make the playoffs we still want to finish strong."
The Cavaliers have won seven of their last ten and have gone 6-4 against the spread over the same span while the Blazers have gone 5-5 in their last ten games overall and 6-4 against the spread over the same span.
Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my NBA Betting Free Picks.
The Trail Blazers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games.
The Trail Blazers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
The Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight Monday games.
The Cavaliers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite.
The Under is 5-1 in Trail Blazers last six road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
The Over is 4-0 in Cavaliers last four Monday games.
The Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
The Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
Analysis: While I like the Cavaliers to win this game at home and extend their home winning streak, I genuinely believe the Blazers are going to come out with a solid effort in covering the spread and giving the Cavaliers a scare as they shoot for the outright win. An even better wager for this matchup is to take the ‘Over’.
