NBA Wagering - Cleveland (+ 3) vs. Portland (- 3)

The Cavaliers have turned it on lately. They had a terrible start to the NBA season but have gone a terrific 7 and 3 against the spread in their last 10 games. The Portland Trailblazers have cooled off. They have gone 4 and 6 against the spread in their last 10 games and 0 and 3 against the spread in their last 3 games.

Here are more trends to help us with this one:

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games on the road.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games.

The Portland Trailblazers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games playing on only two days of rest.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 1 and 6 against the spread in their last 7 games versus the Trailblazers in Portland.

The trends are fairly even. Handicapping this game comes down to whether or not you feel that the Cavaliers will remain hot while the Trailblazers will remain cold. I’m inclined to go with the Trailblazers in this one because they did win their last game straight-up. They also are somewhat better then the Cavaliers and, even though they do not have a player in LeBron’s category, the Blazers do have Brandon Roy and LeMarcus Aldridge - - two young, tough, very good players.

Maybe that win versus the Hawks was a sign that they are going to change their fortunes in this game and go back to that covering machine that so many of us BetUS NBA bettors were all over earlier this season. My money will be on that fact as neither the Blazers nor the Cavs show any major injuries, other then those reported before the season started, going into this game.

I’m taking the home team in what should be a very close, very difficult game for both teams until the last few minutes.
