NBA Basketball Wagering - Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz

The Nuggets are fighting for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They need to keep winning games. Straight-up they’ve been doing exactly that going 7 and 3 in their last 10. The Utah Jazz lost by only three points to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. It looked like Utah might pull out a road victory, but the Mavs came up big yet again. Dallas has been fantastic since they got Dirk back so losing to them on the road is nothing to worry about. Against the BetUS spread the Jazz have gone 7 and 3 in their last 10 games. That makes them a solid, solid team going into this game. Here are more trends.

The Utah Jazz are 27 and 12 against the spread in their home games this season.

The Denver Nuggets are 19 and 21 against the spread in their away games this season.

The Utah Jazz are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 games.

The Denver Nuggets have gone 3 and 3 against the spread in their last 6 games.

The one trend that stands out above is the Jazz’s record against the spread at home. More often then not, the Jazz are very difficult to beat at home. Against the BetUS spread, they usually cover.

The key in deciding where to lay our money in this game is predicting the BetUS line. I do believe that the Jazz will be favored. I do not believe that they will be huge favorites. My gut tells me that the line should be around Jazz – 6.5 to – 7.5.

This gives us a pretty good stop bet point. Since the Jazz have been playing at a high-level for a while now, and since they are at home, it makes sense to bet on them in this situation. The key is whether or not we can get our stop bet point of – 7.5 or lower.

If the line is above 7.5, then we will have to look elsewhere. If the BetUS line ends up at 7.5 or lower, then I do believe that the Jazz are a very good bet.

For the BetUS over/under, let’s set our stop-bet at 206 points. The Jazz can run with the Nuggets, but because they prefer to run their half-court sets, 206 seems logical. Anything above 206 is a bet on the under. Anything below 206 is a bet on the under.
