NBA Basketball Betting – Dallas at Utah

The Dallas Mavericks (19-9 SU, 12-15-1 ATS) seem to have gathered a little bit of momentum, and on Wednesday they'll head to the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Jazz (15-14 SU, 12-16 ATS) in a game that begins at 9 PM ET.
In the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds, the Jazz is a three-point favorite, with the total listed at 205 points.
In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:
* DALL has won nine of the last 12 meetings SU
* four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total
* UTAH has covered seven of the last nine meetings as the home team
* Five of the last six meetings in Salt Lake City have gone UNDER the total
The last meeting - and the only one this season - took place on December 8 in Dallas, as the Mavs, a six-point favorite, won a wild 125-117 decision. In that game, Deron Williams of Utah scored 41 points, while Dallas' Josh Howard hit for 47.
Dallas is shooting 47.1% from the field and is a league-leading 83.6% from the free throw line. The Mavs have won five straight games and seven of their last eight. Also:
* DALL has played six UNDERS in its last seven games
* DALL has covered five of its last 16 road games
* DALL has played four UNDERS in its last five road games
Utah got off to a strong start, winning 13 of its first 18 games. But a 2-9 straight-up run has dropped them below surging Portland in the NBA's Northwest Division. Utah is shooting 48.7%, which is second in the NBA, but have made less three-pointers than anyone (3.7 per contest). Also:
* UTAH has covered two of its last six games
* UTAH has covered six of its last eight home games
* UTAH has won nine of its last 10 home games SU
* UTAH has played four UNDERS in its last six home games
The Jazz has certainly demonstrated that it is a different team when it is at home. Overall Jerry Sloan's team is allowing 100 points a game, but that figure is reduced to just under 93 points a game in Salt Lake City. What might be a bit alarming for them here is that the Mavericks take much better care of the ball (12.2 turnovers/game) than does Utah (15.6). And Dallas has ben deadly accurate lately, shooting 51% over their last four games. Against a team so offensively potent, it is difficult to lay points, especially if you don't have the three-pointer in your arsenal.
