NBA Basketball Betting - Lakers vs. Nuggets

Los Angeles Lakers (- 4.5) vs. Denver Nuggets (+ 4.5)
The Los Angeles Lakers face the Denver Nuggets in game four of their first-round playoff series with a chance to sweep the unsettled Nuggets. In game three the Nuggets, favored for some strange reason, simply didn’t play anywhere close to what the NBA betting lines indicated. The BetUS online sportsbook had the Nuggets favored at 1 ½ points. That was probably the easiest sports wager of the entire NBA season to hit as it was obvious that the Nuggets wouldn’t come close to winning that game. Not only that, shortly after the first game most online gambling experts probably had the Lakers winning all four of the first games in the series.
Hence, the immediate shift in favoritism from the Denver Nuggets in game three to the Los Angeles Lakers in game four. At this point the Los Angeles Lakers are favored by 4.5 points. The BetUS NBA lines indicate that the Lakers should win this game easily. That leaves NBA bettors with one decision - - will the Lakers cover the 4.5 point spread?
Let’s take a look at a few trends.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games on a Monday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a team from the Western Conference.
The Denver Nuggets are 0 and 4 against the spread in their last 4 overall games.
The Denver Nuggets are 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 games as the underdog.
The Under is 4 and 1 in the Los Angeles Lakers last 5 games versus a team with a winning straight up record.
It makes sense to go with the Lakers in this game. The BetUS online sporstbook betting line of 4.5 isn’t enough for me to shy away from a Lakers team that is obviously better than the Denver Nuggets.
The key question in this game is if there is a way to make money on the BetUS over/under online betting wager. The over/under in this game is 227.5. That equates to around 114 points from each team. What the trend above tells us is that the Lakers defense has, for some reason, suddenly become very, very good.
After watching game three in this series, I have no doubt that the Lakers will keep the Denver Nuggets from reaching the century mark. That would require the Lakers to score around 127 points on their own for this thing to go over.
I don’t think it will happen.
