The New Orleans Hornets, (56-26 SU, 50-30-2 ATS, 39-41-2 O/U) come into the playoffs as division winners for the very first time after a spectacular regular season and will be looking to boot the often inconsistent Dallas Mavericks, (51-31 SU, 35-43-4 ATS, 38-42-2 O/U), who have struggled with their consistency since acquiring all-star point guard Jason Kidd, out of the postseason starting with a big victory in tonight’s contest.
Each team comes into this affair having won six of their final ten regular season games. The Mavericks went a respectable 5-5 against the spread over that span while New Orleans went 5-4-1 against the spread in their last ten.

Analysis: I’ll make this pick short and to the point and just say that there is absolutely no way the New Orleans Hornets will lose this meaningful postseason game at home in front of an absolutely raucous home crowd. While the Mavericks are talented and more experienced, The Hornets will not only win this contest, but cover the spread, backed by their crowd and own extra adrenaline.
