NBA Basketball Betting Trends – Charlotte Bobcats at Dallas Mavericks

What in the name of Michael Jordan is going on in Charlotte?
The Charlotte Bobcats, (24-39 SU, 28-34-1 ATS, 35-27-1 O/U), have suddenly caught fire, winning a season-high five consecutive games coming into this affair including a solid 100-97 victory over the high-scoring Washington Wizards on Saturday.
The Dallas Mavericks, (41-23 SU, 27-33-4 ATS, 32-31-1 O/U), are still adjusting to the addition of veteran point guard Jason Kidd and have won two straight games coming into tonight’s matchup, including an emphatic 108-79 blowout of the New Jersey Nets on Monday.
Now, the Bobcats are looking to beat the Mavericks for the first time in franchise history while extending their franchise-best winning streak to six consecutive games.
"It tells us a lot about ourselves. If we play together and go out there and play hard, we have the chance to win a lot of games," said Charlotte swingman Jason Richardson. "We're just playing for pride right now, and fortunately that pride has translated into getting back into the playoff picture."
Richardson, the NBA Eastern Conference player of the week, has averaged 28.8 points during the winning streak.
Dallas head coach Avery Johnson knows his team needs to steady itself as the regular season comes to a quick close.
"This gives us a chance to get our feet under us," Johnson said. "We need some small victories within these games we're playing now. ... It's a good time for us to lay some sort of foundation."
The Mavericks are a solid 6-3-1 against the spread in their last ten games in the BetUS.com Sportsbook while Charlotte has covered the spread in six straight games.

The Favorite is 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Under is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
Analysis: While the Mavericks are playing at home tonight and should win this contest, I like the suddenly-hungry Bobcats to cover the spread while putting a real scare into the Mavs.
