NBA Basketball Betting - Red-Hot Sixers Take Act on Road to Golden State

The Philadelphia 76ers, (26-32 SU, 30-25-3 ATS, 27-31 O/U), are still on that ‘Philly Cheesesteak’ roll I talked about in last week’s BetUS.com Locker Room article and come into tonight’s matchup against the Golden State Warriors, (34-22 SU, 23-33 ATS, 32-23-1 O/U), as one of the hottest teams in the league after winning eight of their last ten games and two straight coming into this affair.

Philadelphia may have traded away one of the league’s most prolific scorers in Allen Iverson last season, but the Sixers are using an improved offense to run their opponents into the ground.

The Sixers are averaging 101.0 points in their last 14 games and got 26 points from guards Willie Green and Andre Miller in their last outing, a surprisingly easy 101-89 victory over the Orlando Magic and Dwight Howard on Wednesday.

"Twenty-plus fast-break points is the way we're trying to play," Sixers head coach Maurice Cheeks said.

A high-scoring affair is just what the Golden State Warriors - the league’s highest-scoring team – likes.

The Warriors, who are averaging 110.0 points per game this season, have scored over 100 points in 20 consecutive games and have gone 7-3 in their last ten contests, including a 105-99 win over the young Seattle Supersonics on Tuesday night.

However, the Warriors have struggled to cover against the spread in the BetUS.com Sportsbook, going just 2-8 in their last 10 games and have failed to cover in their last two contests while Philadelphia is a red-hot 8-2 against the spread in its last ten games and has recorded consecutive ATS wins coming into tonight’s matchup.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Wagering Free Picks:

The 76ers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games as an underdog.

The 76ers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

The Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.

The Warriors are 17-8 ATS in their last 25 Friday games.

The Over is 5-1 in 76ers last six games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5.

The Over is 5-0 in Warriors last five when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

The Over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Golden State.

The Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

Analysis: While the Warriors are the league’s best team at running-and-gunning, I like the rejuvenated Sixers to cover the spread with another outstanding effort tonight. Take the Sixers and the Under NBA bettors.
