New Jersey has averaged 11.4 offensive rebounds a game and 42.4 rebounds overall. The Nets have shot 44.1% from the field as a team. Also:

* NJ has lost five of its last six games SU

* NJ has lost 12 of its last 13 road games SU

Toronto has shot 81.3% from the line, best in the league. The Raptors are surrendering 97.7 points a game overall, and 95.5 ppg at home (10th). Also:

* TOR has covered four of its last 15 games

New Jersey now has virtually no playoff chance, so it will be interesting to see who is going to continue playing as to stick around for next year. Who will be trade bait? Will coach Lawrence Frank be bait, period? We here in the sports betting community think he might. But there is nothing left to do in the Meadowlands. Toronto handled the Nets pretty easy in the first two meetings, although the Nets came back to surprise Toronto at home just six days ago (99-90). This would be a form of payback for the Raptors, who have an opportunity to catch Philadelphia for the fifth playoff spot and maybe even Washington, which might put them in a much better position for the first round.

The point is, there is a little motivation here. And New Jersey went ice cold against Cleveland in the fourth quarter when it mattered most, being outscored by a 28-9 count. Meanwhile, Chris Bosh is in nice form for Toronto, with 32 points and 11 rebounds in a rout of the Bucks on Wednesday. Five Raptors scored in double figures in that game, which was just their sixth win in a 22-game period.

The Nets out-shot the Raps from the free throw line 94% to 76% in that Saturday game; will that kind of thing happen again? We don't think so. Devin Harris, the guard acquired from Dallas for Jason Kidd, says, “At times we’re not on the same page…...defensively we still got some things to work out.” Indeed.

We'll lay the points with Toronto, the nine-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
