NBA Basketball Betting Odds – Supersonics at Warriors
By Eric Williams
The Golden State Warriors, (48-33 SU, 34-47 ATS, 44-35-2 O/U), had the air let out of their fine regular season in their last contest, finding out that they would not be participating in the postseason this year despite winning 48 games to date. This is unfortunate given the fact that this team has made the online basketball betting community some cash in the sportsbook.
The Seattle Supersonics, (19-62 SU, 38-40-3 ATS, 33-48 O/U) were never close to making the playoffs as they went young this year, building for the future around rookies Kevin Durant and Jeff Green.
The Warriors' hopes officially ended on Monday with their 122-116 loss at Phoenix.
"It's disappointing," said Monta Ellis, who scored 20 points. "We left it all on the court and we played hard to the end."
The Supersonics will have the worst record in the league this season, but have hope for the future with their young stars.
The Sonics picked up a solid win in their last outing, beating the Dallas Mavericks, 99-95 on Sunday.
This Friday, NBA owners will vote on owner Clay Bennett's planned relocation of the franchise to Oklahoma City.
"It's been a hard year and to have some success sometimes, it surprises you, you do get a little emotional," said veteran forward Nick Collison. "It's been a tough year and some of the extra stuff has been kind of tough. ... But it was a lot of fun. It shows it would be a shame if basketball wasn't here."
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:
The Supersonics are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win.
The Supersonics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
The Warriors are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
The Warriors are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games playing on 1 days rest.
The Under is 4-0 in Supersonics last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
The Under is 4-0 in Warriors last 4 vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
The Under is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings in Golden State.
Analysis: While the Warriors are clearly the better team and will likely win this game, I like the Sonics to come through with another solid effort to close out their regular season with another fine performance after shocking the Mavericks in their last game. Take the Sonics to cover led by Durant and Green.
