NBA Basketball Betting - Eastern Conference Playoff Previews
by Eric Williams
No matter what many pundits may say about the Eastern Conference playoffs not having nearly as much drama surrounding their upcoming series’ as their counterparts in the Western Conference, I disagree wholeheartedly and fully believe the postseason proceeding taking place in the Eastern Conference playoffs this postseason will be just as thrilling as their brethren’s in the West.
Either the BetUS.com will have all the Eastern Conference playoff action covered throughout the postseason in the BetUS Locker Room and the BetUS Sportsbook, beginning with these informative series previews.

Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks
Season Records
Celtics: 65-16 (1st in Atlantic Division)
Hawks: 37-44 (3rd in Southeast Division)
Season Series
Celtics won, 3-0
Nov. 9: at Celtics 106, Hawks 83
March 2: at Celtics 98, Hawks 88
April 12: Celtics 99, at Hawks 89
The Boston Celtics, (66-16 SU, 52-28-2 ATS, 36-45-1 O/U) have averaged 100.5 points per contest on 47.5 percent shooting from the field and 90.3 percent beyond the arc while allowing 42.0 points per contest.
The Atlanta Hawks, (37-45 SU, 37-44-1 ATS, 42-40 O/U) have averaged 98.2 points per game on 45.4 percent shooting from the field and 100.0 percent beyond the arc while allowing 46.3 points per game.
Analysis: I won’t waste the NBA Betting Community’s time with a long, drawn-out analysis of this matchup simply because the Hawks have absolutely no chance at all to win. While I will admit I am seriously impressed with the Hawks strides this season and certainly think they are headed in the right direction after years of futility, the fact of the matter s that the Celtics are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals at the very least and likely the NBA Finals. If you ask me, I say the Hawks are just a speed bump in the road on the Celtics path to the NBA title this season.

Detroit Pistons vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Season Records
Pistons: 58-23 (1st in Central Division)
Sixers: 40-41 (3rd in Atlantic Division)
Season Series
Series tied, 2-2
Nov. 23: at Pistons 83, Sixers 78
Jan. 23: Pistons 86, at Sixers 78
March 12: Sixers 83, at Pistons 82
April 9: at Sixers 101, Pistons 94
The Detroit Pistons, (59-23 SU, 45-36-1 ATS, 36-45-1 O/U) have averaged 97.5 points per contest on 45.8 percent shooting from the field and 90.1 percent beyond the arc while allowing 43.7 points per contest.
The Philadelphia 76ers, (40-42 SU, 43-36-3 ATS, 39-42-1 O/U) have averaged 96.6 points per game on 46.0 percent shooting from field and 96.2 percent beyond the arc while allowing 46.1 points per game.
Analysis: By looking at the season series between these two teams, one might get the idea that the Sixers actually stand some sort of chance of winning this series against the Central Division champion Pistons. Let me dispel that notion quickly. The Sixers will win at least one game in this series while likely covering the spread in at least two or thee games, but the outright wins and the series will go to the experienced Pistons who will undoubtedly crank up the level of their play another notch against Philly in the postseason.
