Bet on Basketball - Milwaukee Bucks (+1) vs. Seattle Supersonics (-1)

Milwaukee has played Buck-ball which basically means they go through the season barely above, or below, .500. Seattle is starting to resemble that race horse that just likes to take a day-off once in a while.

Three games ago the Sonics beat the Indiana Pacers, then they gook a night-off versus the Golden State Warriors, then they beat the Los Angeles Clippers. That means, of course, that they will probably take a nigh-off versus the Milwaukee Bucks.

Here are some trends that say maybe the Sonics don’t take the night-off:

The Milwaukee Bucks are 2 and 12 against the spread in the last 14 meetings between these two teams.

The Seattle Supersonics are 6 and 2 against the spread in their last 8 versus the NBA Central.

The two trends above pretty much say that the Sonics win their second game in a row. Uh, not so fast. I have looked at all of the stats and, even though the Sonics appear poised to win another game, I just can’t endorse these guys.

Everything point to the Sonics in this one. They average 98 points a game. The Bucks average a paltry 94 points a game. The Sonics average over 45 rebounds per game. The Bucks average over 42 rebounds per game.

So, why am I not putting my money on the Sonics tonight? In fact, why am I going with the Bucks as my best bet of the night?

Because the NBA odds of the Sonics winning two games in a row are much higher than the spread. Even though that probably makes no sense to most of you, think about it. The Sonics, who have only won 4 games this year, who haven’t even sniffed a two game win streak this year, who just came off of a win versus a team that had lost 6 games in a row, is trying to win their second game in a row?

Are you kidding me? If you were an odds-maker, what odds would you place on the Sonics winning their second in a row? The NBA betting odds would probably be much higher than the odds of Milwaukee winning this game outright.

That’s the way I look at this game.

The BetUS NBA line is Milwaukee Bucks + 1 against the spread on the road versus the Seattle Supersonics.

The trends say Sonics, but the odds of the Sonics winning two games in a row tells me that the Bucks are the best wager of the night.
