NASCAR Subway 500 Betting - Saturday Night Live

NASCAR – Subway 500 - Saturday Night Live

The action will be immeasurable as the Sprint Cup series thunders into Phoenix for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 on Saturday, making for a spectacular NASCAR wagering night under the lights.

Carl Edwards crushed the competition in last week's win in the Samsung 500 at Texas, gaining four spots in the point standings to be tenth while leading a race-high 123 laps, and now he'll try to cash again for the NASCAR betting group supporting him at the duel in the desert.

Phoenix International Raceway is a 1.5 miles track and that plays right into the hands of Edwards. He’s proven to be unbeatable on intermediate tracks this season, winning at California, Las Vegas and now Texas. And, if his motor had not failed while leading, he could have won at Atlanta.

Edwards has never won at Phoenix but started on the pole there in the fall race last season to only finish 42nd. He has two top-5s and four top-10 finishes at Phoenix. BetUS NASCAR odds will be giving Edwards a lot of respect to find Victory Lane in the desert for the first time this weekend.

Jimmie Johnson was a strong second last week but Jeff Gordon finished last for just the second time in his career as Hendrick Motorsports remained winless through the first seven races of the season. Johnson also gained for spots in the standings last Sunday to be sixth and Gordon fell further back to 14th.

Gordon won this event last year and Johnson took the checkers in the fall race at Phoenix International Raceway in 2007, proving the Hendrick duo has what it takes to be a threat on Saturday evening.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is NASCAR’s most popular driver but he's still trying to end a 69-race winless streak. His last victory was at Richmond in May 2006. Despite the winless streak, Earnhardt Jr. remains fourth in points.

Earnhardt Jr. has two victories at Phoenix so it should come as no surprise if the dry spell ends this weekend.

The only other active drivers with more than one win in the desert are Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick. Burton is first in the point standings and Harvick is second. Both have been strong all season and they are solid selections for Saturday's race if you bet on NASCAR.

The green flag for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 waves at 8:45pm EST. It will be a Saturday night shootout and a race you do not want to miss.
