Phillies starter Cole Hamels is 9-6 in 19 starts covering 135.2 innings with 118 strikeouts, 33 walks and a 3.18 ERA.
Analysis: This pitching matchup should be a good one for baseball fans with two of the best pitchers in the game taking the mound for their respective ball clubs. With this contest being too close to call based on the starting pitching, I say take the Diamondbacks to win by smacking around some poor Phillies reliever.

St. Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pitchers: Cardinals starter Joel Pineiro is 3-4 in 14 starts covering 82.0 innings with 43 strikeouts, 20 walks and an ERA of 4.17.
Pirates’ starter Ian Snell is 3-7 in 17 starts covering 89.1 innings with 65 strikeouts, 52 walks and a 5.84 ERA.
Analysis: Despite playing on the road, I say take the overachieving St. Louis Cardinals to win this contest by rocking pitiful Pirates starter Ian Snell.

Florida Marlins at Los Angeles Dodgers
The Pitchers: Marlins starter Andrew Miller is 5-8 in 19 starts covering 99.0 innings with 77 strikeouts, 45 walks and an ERA of 5.09.
Dodgers’ starter Chad Billingsley is 8-8 in 18 starts and two relief appearances covering 109.1 innings with 115 strikeouts, 50 walks and a 3.38 ERA.
Analysis: I like this matchup for real baseball fans with two solid starters going for two young clubs that are each on their respective ways up. In the end, I say take the Los Angeles Dodgers behind fine young starter, Chad Billingsley in a close affair.
MLB Free Picks:: Dodgers 5 Marlins 4
Atlanta Braves at San Diego Padres
The Pitchers: Braves starter Jorge Campillo is 3-4 in ten starts and 14 relief appearances covering 79.1 innings with 55 strikeouts, 17 walks and a 3.06 ERA.
Padres’ starter Greg Maddux is 3-7 in 19 starts covering 113.0 innings with 56 strikeouts, 22 walks and an ERA of 3.90.
Analysis: I know Padres veteran Greg Maddux doesn’t have real good-looking numbers this season, nut I say the Padres manage to eke out a victory here as Maddux pulls out some old trick against his former ballclub. Take the Padres in a surprise.
