MLB Online Baseball Wagering - Reds vs. Cardinals

The Reds and Cardinals, two of the top teams in the N.L. East, take each other on in a very good Monday night online baseball betting game. Even though the BetUS sportsbook had the Chicago Cubs as the N.L. Central favorites going into the season, both the Cardinals and Reds have played well enough to cause the Cubs some headaches. The Cardinals in particular have been terrific against sportsbook betting odds since the beginning of the season. At this point the Cardinals are only a game behind the Chicago Cubs for supremacy in the N.L. Central Division. St. Louis sends pitcher Todd Wellemeyer to the mound. Wellemeyer is 2 and 0 on the season with 31 strike-outs and an ERA of 3.77 in five games. He has been good, but the run support from his team has been better. Wellemeyer could be sitting on a loss, which should make sportsbook odds shift to the Reds, but, then again, the Reds don’t send out one of their shut-down guys.

In Bronson Arroyo the Reds have someone who, on his best day, could shut down most opposing teams’ line-ups. On his worst day, he will barely last four innings. Unfortunately for Arroyo and the Reds this season, he’s had nothing but bad days. In five games this season, Arroyo is 0 and 3 with a 7.56 ERA. Worse then that is the fact that Arroyo hasn’t pitched six innings in a single game this season. He’s been a terrific bet against so far this year. The online gambling odds on Arroyo have certainly made him a favorite with MLB bettors.

Even if he is sitting on a loss, I can’t endorse Arroyo in this situation for the simple fact that Arroyo clearly believes that there’s nothing wrong with how he is throwing the ball. On the Reds’ website he said that he looked at the video of his worst start of the season, but didn’t “see anything.”

Okay, Bronson, are you saying that you just suck this year? I hate to be hard on the guy, but to be successful at MLB betting, real online gamblers must be prepared to question almost every piece of information that he or she reads.

Since that piece of information was on the Reds’ site, I must take Bronson’s word for it. He must really think that he’s not doing anything wrong. That means he just sucks.

The fact makes me confident to give up the 1 ½ runs on Wellemeyer for BetUS online odds of + 145.
