MLB Online Baseball Wagering - Dodgers vs. Reds

The online MLB betting community will watch the Los Angeles Dodgers as they will be looking to end their losing streak sending Brad Penny to the mound to take on the Cincinnati Reds. The Dodgers were terrible this past weekend getting swept by the Atlanta Braves on the road. The Braves outscored the Dodgers 16 to 3 in the series. Dodger batters hit .181 for the series. The man they send to the mound on Monday night, Brad Penny, will do his best to keep the Dodgers from losing their fourth straight game. Penny has been solid so far this season. He’s 2 and 2 with a 2.96 ERA

The Reds will count Penny with pitcher Matt Belisle. Like the Dodgers, the Reds haven’t been all that good lately. They’ve gone 2 and 7 in their last nine games. To make matters worse, Belisle will be pitching after spending most of his time on the disabled list. This will be Belisle’s first action of the year. Last year Belisle was downright terrible. He went 8 and 9 with a 5.32 ERA.

Let’s take a look at the BetUS lines.

How good will Matt Belisle pitch on Monday night? That’s going to be the key in finding the perfect wager for this game.

I’m going to say that betting on either the over or the under is a bad bet because of the difficulty in determining how strong Belisle will be for his first game of the season.

The key with Brad Penny is getting the needed run support. There is no doubt that giving up a run and a half at this point on any Dodger pitcher is a difficult proposition. The Dodgers just aren’t scoring runs. That means Penny could be almost perfect on Monday night, and still lose the game because of the lack of run support.

I’m willing to forgive the Dodgers for their terrible three games this past weekend versus the Braves. The Dodgers can score. They took Chris Young, the San Diego Padres brilliant starter, to school two weekends ago.

Maybe the Dodgers get their bats going on Monday night which means that the run and a half that Penny has to give up isn’t a bad wager.
