MLB Online Baseball Wagering - Angels vs. Red Sox

This is a huge online baseball betting opportunity and game for both teams as the Angels send out their ace, Jered Weaver, against Boston’s ace, Josh Beckett. Beckett struggled in his first game of the season and his ERA is nothing to be proud of, 5.12, but the BoSox have suddenly started looking like the defending World Series Champions. They have won five straight games and are now 14 and 7 on the season. Beckett is very good against the Angels. Last year Beckett went 3 and 0 with a 1.59 ERA in five appearances against the Angels.

The Angels counter with Jered Weaver. Weaver has been very good lately. Unfortunately, Weaver’s always pitching on a day when the Angels can’t muster any run support. He is 1 and 3 on the season with an ERA of 3.60. The sad thing is that in four games, Weaver has only given up two home-runs. You’d think he’d have won more games by now with that stellar Angels’ batting line-up.

Let’s take a look at the BetUS MLB lines.

Jered Weaver – R + 1 ½ - 125 + 170 O 9

Boston Red Sox

Josh Beckett – R - 1 ½ + 105 - 200 U 9

The Angels should be competitive in this game, but I can’t even think about betting on Weaver or the Angels to win this thing straight-up. The bottom line is that Josh Beckett owns this team.

Sometimes a pitcher can dominate a team for no other reason then the fact that he knows how to pitch to them. Beckett has been good against the Angels forever. I don’t see why things should change in this game. It’s not like the Angels should suddenly wake-up and remember that their ace, Jered Weaver, might need some run support.

With Beckett dominating and Weaver pitching well, the under looks mighty tempting in this one, but I won’t go for it.

Instead, I’ll go with Beckett – 1 ½ runs at + 105. The Red Sox are on a roll right now. There’s no reason to believe that the up and down Angels will stop them at this point.
