MLB Online Baseball Betting – Series Three Pack

San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies have won eight of their last 12 games and will get to beat up on the struggling San Francisco Giants over the weekend.

The Giants are clearly one of the worst teams in baseball but what lowers the price on this series is the fact that their two best pitchers will be throwing on Saturday and Sunday.

Rookie Patrick Misch will open up on Friday and Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum will follow. But the Phillies will counter with Kyle Kendrick, Brett Myers and Cole Hamels.

Kendrick is off a seven-inning, three-run performance while Myers 5.11 ERA may be somewhat discouraging for fantasy owners, for bettors, you just have to look closer at his splits.

Away from home, Myers is 0-2 with a 7.41 ERA. At home, Myers is 2-0 with a 3.15 ERA.

The Giants are only 5-8 away from home, which should further help the Phillies case.

Free Pick: Philadelphia

Baltimore Orioles @ Los Angeles Angels

Count me out as one of the people that believe that the Baltimore Orioles impressive start to the season will last.

They head to Anaheim this weekend and none of the three starters that are slated to throw have an ERA below 4.14. The Orioles just don’t have the power in their batting lineup and eventually that will catch up to them.

The ERAs of Jered Weaver and Jon Garland aren’t overly impressive either, but Weaver pitches significantly better at home. He’s allowed only two earned runs in 13 innings pitched at home while allowing 15 earned runs in 23.1 innings pitched away from home.

Joe Saunders will finish up the series for the Angels on Sunday and he’s been a nice surprise for the Angels. He’s 5-0 with an ERA of 2.08 and a WHIP of 0.95. Not bad for a guy who was expected to fight for one of the last spots in the rotation.

Free Pick: Los Angeles

Texas Rangers @ Oakland Athletics

The reeling Texas Rangers head into Oakland for a three-game set against an Athletics team that was supposed to keep them company in the basement of the American League West.

But as is usually the case, the A’s have found a good crew of young arms that have helped pitched the A’s to the top of the division while the Rangers, bereft of pitching once again, are one of the worst teams in baseball.

The Rangers, who are 5-10 on the road, will send Vicente Padilla, A.J. Murray and Scott Feldman to the mound in this series – those guys aren’t exactly Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz in their prime. The A’s will counter with Joe Blanton, Chad Gaudin and Greg Smith. Blanton is 5-0 in his last six starts against the Rangers while Gaudin and Smith have only allowed five earned runs combined in their last 28 innings pitched.

Free Pick: Oakland
