MLB Baseball Betting - L.A. Angels at Kansas City

BetUS MLB baseball betting odds: Kansas City -140, L.A. Angels +120; Total 9 (Under -115, Over -105)

The Los Angeles Angels (21-13), on top of the American League West, lock horns with the Kansas City Royals (14-17) on Tuesday night in an American League game that will begin at 8:10 PM ET at Kauffman Stadium (natural turf) in Kansas City.

Nick Adenhart (0-0, 22.50 ERA), who had a rocky outing in his first big league start, will get another chance for the Angels, while Brian Bannister (3-3, 4.04 ERA) takes the mound for the Royals, in a clash between right-handers.

At BetUS Sportsbook, Kansas City is listed as a -140 favorite (Los Angeles is +120), with a total of nine runs (the Under is -115, while the Over is -105).

Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

(NOTE: These trends may also revert back to the 2007 season)

* LA has won five of its last seven games

* LA has played four of its last six games UNDER the total

* LA has won five of its last six road games

* KC has lost 11 of its last 16 games

* KC has played five of its last seven games UNDER the total

* KC has lost eight of its last 11 home games

* KC has played four of its last five home games UNDER the total

In the HEAD-TO-HEAD baseball betting trends:

* KC has won six of the last eight meetings

* LA has won 16 of the last 20 meetings as the road team

* Seven of the last eight meetings have gone UNDER the total

Nick Adenhart was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake, where he had compiled a microscopic 0.87 ERA, but made his major league debut on only three days' rest after throwing almost 100 pitches in his previous outing. He was knocked out of the box by the Athletics, allowing five runs in two innings. He also walked five batters, four of those in a row, which reaffirmed questions about his control.

Those questions may not be answered right away, but there is little question that Adenhart has the stuff to compete on the big league level. Now with four days of rest, manager Mike Scioscia is confident that Adenhart can settle down and do a better job. He has told the 21 year-old right-hander, the organization's top pitching prospect to take all the pressure off himself.

Brian Bannister has some reason for concern. Kansas City's young righty started out very strong, giving up two earned runs in his first three starts (covering 21 innings). But in the last three, he's yielded 14 runs in 14-2/3 innings. He was reached for three homers in the first two innings against the Rangers six days ago. So he has his own recent horror story.

Los Angeles is playing better ball right now, and they have been throughout the season thus far. We'll give Adenhart a chance and grab a price with the Angels, the +120 underdog in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
