MLB Baseball Wagering - Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels
Huge match-up on Saturday in the Red Sox vs. Angels game as both teams send one of their best pitchers to the mound. The Red Sox start Josh Beckett who, on any given day, could dominate batting line-ups. Beckett has had a somewhat uneventful season so far. His record of 9 and 5 isn’t mind-blowing and his ERA of 3.94 isn’t what we usually expect from the right-handed hurler. This is Josh Beckett, however, so MLB betting fans know that he could turn it around quickly.
The Angels counter Beckett with John Garland. Garland wasn’t a baseball betting stud either in the first half of the 2008 MLB Season. His record is a winning one at 8 and 6, but his ERA is a rather lackluster 4.20. Because the Angels are so good at providing run support, it’s difficult to pick against any Angels pitcher right now. Still, Garland’s stats could be better.

There is a rumor that Jered Weaver may start in place of John Garland in this game. If that’s the case, then things will change somewhat in the sense that Beckett might be a nicer underdog then what I’ve listed above.

The online MLB odds I’ve come up with say that the Angels are going to be a tough team to beat either way. Because of that there really is only one value play in this game. If the Red Sox are the underdogs, then they deserve to receive some money to beat the Angels in an upset. The Angels being tough at home should only add some positive dollars onto the BetUS baseball money-line.
Why do I like the Red Sox? Because Beckett is a good enough pitcher to rock the Angels for just enough innings for the BoSox to take this. This is true whether Weaver or Garland starts.
