MLB Baseball Betting - L.A. Dodgers at Milwaukee
By Charles Jay
BetUS MLB baseball betting odds: L.A. Dodgers -115, Milwaukee -105; Total 9 (Over -115, Under -105)
The Los Angeles Dodgers (19-19) will try to get over the .500 level on Wednesday night for some online sports betting action when they tackle the Milwaukee Brewers (20-19), who will try to stay there, as this NL game gets underway at 8:05 PM ET at Miller Park (natural turf) in Milwaukee.
Right-hander Derek Lowe (2-3, 4.43 ERA) will be the starter for the Dodgers, while southpaw Manny Parra (1-2, 5.79 ERA) gets the assignment for the Brew Crew.
At BetUS Sportsbook, the Dodgers are listed as a -115 favorite (Milwaukee is -105), with a total of nine runs (the Over is -115, the Under is -105).
Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* LA has lost its last five games
* LA has won five of its last seven road games
* MIl has won four of its last five games
* MIL has played six of its last eight games UNDER the total
* MIL has won four of its last five home games
* MIL has played seven of its last nine home games UNDER the total
In the HEAD-TO-HEAD baseball betting trends:
* LA has won three of the last five meetings
* MIL has won five of the last seven meetings as the home team
* Four of the last six meetings in Milwaukee have gone UNDER the total
Los Angeles is all of a sudden having problems scoring runs; the Dodgers have crossed the plate just ten times int he last five games - all losses. Last night Brad Penny was not able to hold Milwaukee down, yielding five runs in six innings. And they allowed the Brewers to win their fourth game in five tries. L.A. has slipped back to the .500 mark and 5-1/2 games behind front-running Arizona. If they continue to slip, the dodgers may be in danger of being overtaken by the San Francisco Giants, who are just three games behind them.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee is right in the thick of things in the National League Central, just three games in back of the Cubs. They'll go with Manny Parra tonight, who has not completed six innings in any start this season. His best outing was in his first start, as he held San Francisco to two runs in 5-1/3 innings. Last time out he gave up three runs on three hits to the Cards.
Derek Lowe started very strong for the Dodgers, posting a 2.45 ERA in his first five starts. But he has been hit hard in his last two, giving up eleven runs combined to the Rockies and Astros in just 10-1/3 innings. So clearly he is looking for a better effort.
One thing the Dodgers have in their favor here is that they have killed left-handed pitching this season, hitting .311 with 78 runs scored, which leads the major leagues right now. As a result, they have won nine of 12 games against southpaws. That's good enough for us, at this -115 price in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
