MLB Baseball Betting - Athletics vs. White Sox

Online Betting faithful should know the best road team in baseball is the Oakland Athletics and they’ll look to improve their record to (7-1) in their Game 2 matinee with the Chicago White Sox. They picked up another impressive road victory in Game 1 of the two game set last night to improve their overall mark to (9-5) on the season. Rookie lefthander Greg Smith earned his first MLB win of his career going 7 strong innings allowing 6 hits and 1 ER in 7 innings of work. The bullpen made it interesting, but managed to keep the Sox off the board in the final two frames to secure the 2-1 victory. The win was the A’s 8th in 10 tries, and they currently hold the top spot in the AL West one game ahead of the Los Angeles Angels. Chicago entered last night’s contest on a two-game winning streak after pounding the Tigers by a combined 18-0 in the last two games of their weekend series. They got another strong start from Mark Buehrle, 2 ER’s in 7 innings of work, but they got outhit 10-8 and lost the game by the slimmest of margins. The loss dropped them to (7-5) on the year and they sit in second place in the AL Central a half a game in back of the Kansas City Royals.

So far so good for lefty Dana Eveland’s fortune in the American League. The 24-year old got pounded when pitching for both the Diamondbacks and Brewers the last couple seasons, but he’s been simply unhittable while sporting the Athleitcs uniform. He’s 1-0 with a miniscule 0.68 ERA allowing just 9 hits in 13+ innings of work with a K/BB ratio of 13/4. He picked up a road win against Toronto his last time out limiting the Blue Jays to 3 hits and 0 ER’s in 6 1/3rd innings of work. All four of his pitches were working keeping Toronto’s bats off-balance throughout. He’s never faced the White Sox in his career.

Lefty John Danks would have much rather preferred a “mulligan” in his second start of the season, but this is an unforgiving game and his two inning 7 earned run performance will have to remain in the books. As good as he was in his first start of the year against Cleveland, he was just as bad in last Wednesday’s game against the Twins. Manager Ozzie Guillen is hoping for something in between to allow his club to earn a split on the short two-game set. The White Sox won Danks’ lone start against Oakland last season 10-4 where he went 6 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs (1 earned).

The White Sox opened up –120 home chalks with the ‘total’ set at 9.5 for this afternoon’s affair. You can get down at these current process at BetUS.com right now! The A’s earned a 5-4 series victory over the White Sox last season, but including last night’s win, they’re just 2-5 the L/7 games they’ve played at US Cellular field. However, Chicago is 0-5 in Danks’ L/5 home starts.
