MLB Baseball Betting - St. Louis vs. Colorado
By D.S Williamson
The St. Louis Cardinals send Braden Looper to the mound. Although his ERA isn’t spectacular, right now it’s at 3.86, the man is 4 and 1 to start the season. That means that the Cardinals respond to Looper’s presence. That’s always a terrific sign for BetUS baseball betting fans as getting run support is the key reason why some pitchers succeed in the win column while others fail.
The Colorado Rockies counter with Mark Redman. This guy definitely is not the pitcher that MLB betting enthusiasts will want to key their wagers around. Redman is 2 and 2 on the season with an ERA of 6.99. What’s worse is the fact that Redman has only struck out 16 batters in 28.1 innings of work. That’s less then two batters a game. Yes, you can win the major leagues by not striking out a lot of batters, but it’s nice to know that the man on the mound can get the strike-out should he need it.
Here are the BetUS online betting odds for this game:
St. Louis Cardinals
Braden Looper – R - 1 ½ + 135 - 115 O 11 - 120
Colorado Rockies
Mark Redman – L + 1 ½ - 155 - 105 U 11 Ev
Here are a few significant trends to online wagering fans in this game:
The St. Louis Cardinals are 5 and 1 in their last 6 overall games.
The Over is 6 and 1 in the St. Louis Cardinals last 7 games versus a team from the N.L. West.
The Over is 6 and 1 in Braden Looper’s last 7 starts versus a team from the N.L. West.
The Colorado Rockies are 8 and 2 in their last 10 games on a Tuesday night.
The Over is 4 and 0 in Mark Redman’s last 4 starts on grass.
They don’t make it easy for us BetUS online sportsbook betting aficionados, do they? This is one difficult game to handicap and the trends really aren’t making it any easier.
The problem is that the BetUS over/under line of 11 runs is just ridiculous. If both teams combine to allow over 11 runs in this game, then that’s a sign that their respective management teams need to look for different pitchers.
In their last four games the Rockies have given up the following amount of runs - - 11, 12, 2, and 6.
In their last six games the Cardinals have given up the following amount of runs - - 3, 3, 3, and 5.
I’m going to have to take a stand here and offer two BetUS online betting opportunities for this game.
First, I do think Looper has a chance at giving up 1 ½ runs at + 135 and winning this game. He’s pitching that much better then Redman right now.
I also like the BetUS under at 11 runs. I believe that Redman may give up a lot of runs early but Looper should not. Once the bull-pens get in, I do think things will calm down in this game. Let’s say 6 to 3 Cardinals in this one. That would make both of my online bets winners.
