MLB Baseball Betting Odds – Streaking Nationals Host Pirates

After getting off to a slow online betting start to the 2008 season despite having baseball’s newest stadium, the Washington Nationals, (11-17, 11-16-1 O/U) have won three consecutive games in the BetUS Sportsbook to break into the double-digit mark in wins and enter tonight’s matchup against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates, (11-16, 19-8 O/U) looking for their first four-game winning streak of the season as they open a four-games series.
The Nationals will turn to veteran lefty, Odalis Perez, (0-3, 3.31 ERA) who has pitched well all season but has nothing to show for it except a solid ERA. Perez limited the Chicago Cubs to two runs on five hits and four walks and seven strikeouts in six innings in Washington’s 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
Pirate’s left-hander Zach Duke (0-2, 5.34) will be looking to rebound from a poor outing in his last start as he got rocked by the Philadelphia Phillies for six runs on nine hits in six innings of the Phillies’ 6-5 win on Friday. Duke has also given up 11 runs in his last two 10 innings outings covering two starts. Duke is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two career starts in Washington.

Analysis: With the Nationals’ Perez throwing very well all season long, but having nothing to show for it, I say take the Washington Nationals to finally given their hurler some solid run support tonight as they get to Duke for the victory.
