MLB Baseball Betting - Kansas City at Seattle

BetUS MLB baseball online sports betting odds: Seattle -135, Kansas City +115, Total 9 (-110 each way)

The Kansas City Royals (8-5) have gotten back on the winning track again, and on Tuesday they will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on the Seattle Mariners (6-8) in American League play that will get started at 6:40 PM ET at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Lefty John Bale (0-2, 5.84 ERA) is the starter for Kansas City, while right-hander Miguel Batista (0-2, 6.55 ERA) gets the nod for Seattle.

At BetUS Sportsbook, Seattle is listed as a -135 favorite (Kansas City is +115), with a total of nine runs (you must lay -110 each way).

Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

(NOTE: These trends may also revert back to the 2007 season)

* KC has won five of its last eight games

* KC has won five of its last seven road games

* KC has played its last eight games UNDER the total

* KC has played five of its last seven road games UNDER the total

* SEA has won nine of its last 12 home games

In the HEAD-TO-HEAD baseball betting trends:

* KC has won three of the last four meetings

* SEA has won 14 of the last 21 meetings

* SEA has won 12 of the last 15 meetings as the home team

* Three of the last four meetings have gone UNDER the total

Kansas City is at once the lowest-scoring team in the American League and the most difficult team to score on. The result - you guessed it - is a lot of "unders." In fact, the Royals have played eight straight games under the total. John Bale has not turned in sterling performances like Zach Greinke or Brian Bannister have, but he has shown great control so far, walking just a pair of batters in 14-1/3 innings. He's giving some indications that he can become a real starter after spending most of his professional career in the bullpen, though he hasn't exactly demonstrated himself to be a stopper.

Bale's problem, like some of the other KC staffers, is that he can't get offensive support (four runs total in two starts). He hopes to become the third straight Royals' starter to throw a complete game victory, following Bannister and Greinke.

Veteran Miguel Batista has not done a very good job at stopping either of his two opponents this season - the Orioles or Rays. And he's allowed an average of two runners per inning. His WHIP has not been good for a few years, but he got enough support to chalk up 16 victories last year. He had better get some, or be able to go the distance himself, as the Seattle bullpen has a 6.88 ERA.

I am sensing that the atmosphere is right for some runs to be scored, with Bale and Batista are middle-of-the-road starters for their respective teams. We'll look for KC's string of unders to end here as we go OVER the nine runs as that total is posted in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
