MLB Baseball Free Picks - Yanks vs. Red Sox

And so it begins! The greatest rivalry in Major League Baseball, maybe in all of sports, starts up on Friday night as the New York Yankees travel to Boston to take on the Red Sox. With the announcement that World Series MVP Mike Lowell is on the 15 day disabled list, the sportsbook betting community will notice the Red Sox will be looking to beat their hated rivals without the heart and soul of their team. In order to do that, Boston will need to get as much as they can out of starting pitcher Clay Buchholz. Buchholz is not the strongest pitcher on Boston’s roster. He starts fifth in the rotation. Buchholz gave up 4 runs and 6 hits in only 5 innings of work in his last start.

I’d like to write that the Red Sox have no issues in this game because the Yankees will be starting one of their less than stellar pitchers. Unfortunately, I can’t. The Yanks start Chien-Ming Wang who already has two victories on the year. He also has an ERA of 1.38. In 13 innings this season Wang has given up only 10 hits and no home runs.
