MLB Baseball Betting - Twins vs. White Sox

The Chicago White Sox couldn’t get back home fast enough after dropping a 1-0 decision to the Toronto Blue Jays last night. The loss saw them get swept in the four-game online betting series, and they’ve now lost seven of their last 10 overall. Their performance forced Manager Ozzie Guillen to put forth his best Lee Elia tirade over the weekend, but his club didn’t react to it at all. Chicago’s scored a whopping 12 runs over its last seven games, which explains why they haven’t notched the win column in over a week. They come into tonight’s divisional match-up with the Twins on a six-game losing streak, and they currently sit two games under .500 at 14-16 and two games in back of the AL Central Division leading Twins. Minnesota had on off day on Monday, but they swept the Detroit Tigers over the weekend at home and are the proud owners of a five game winning streak. Minnesota is playing its best ball of this young season, and will enter US Cellular Field very confident knowing they’ve taken three of four from the White Sox this year.

Looking to keep the Twins winning streak intact will be Nick Blackburn who’s already faced the White Sox twice this season. The rookie is 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in his six starts this season. He’s allowed 47 hits and 15 earned runs with a K/BB ratio of 19/6 in a shade over 38 innings pitched. However, his numbers falter outside the comfy confines of the Metrodome where he’s 0-0 with a 5.94 ERA with a WHIP of 1.74. The Twins are 0-3 in his three road starts. When Blackburn effectively mixes in his cutter and sinker with a strong curveball and slider, he can be one of the most dangerous pitchers on the Twins staff. He'll face the White Sox for the third time this season. He's 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA in his first two starts.

Chicago needs another solid start tonight and they’ll look to Gavin Floyd to get the job done. Floyd’s been a nice surprise in the White Sox rotation this year as he’s put forth quality starts in all but one of his five starts on the year. He’s 2-1 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.09 WHIP allowing just 19 hits and 11 earned runs in 31 1/3rd innings of work. Free passes have been an issue for him though as he has just as many walks as strikeouts (15/15). The White Sox have won both of his starts at home this season. He'll have a chance to break his string of bad luck against Minnesota when he faces them tonight. Floyd suffered his third loss when facing the Twins in as many career starts, allowing three runs on five hits over six innings during last Tuesday's 3-1 setback at the Metrodome.

Chicago opened –125 home chalks with the ‘total’ set at 9 over -115 for the first game of this three game set. You can get down on both the ‘side’ and ‘total’ at BetUS.com right now!!!

The Twins are 1-7 as road underdogs between +100 and +125 this season, but they’re 12-6 against the AL Central. The White Sox are yet to win a game in the month of May, and they’re 0-3 after three or more consecutive losses. The Twins have made it a priority in getting on top of their opponent to start a series as they’ve won 9 of the L/13 times in game 1, while the White Sox have dropped the first game in each of their L/4 series’.
