MLB Baseball Betting - San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants

The Padres lost a home game to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Even though Chris Young was on the mound for the Padres, it wasn’t enough as the Dodgers scored the winning run against Trevor Hoffman in the ninth inning. Maybe, the Padres weren’t worried about losing that game as they get to take out their frustrations against the woeful San Francisco Giants on Monday.

The Giants have a 1 and 5 record so far this season. Luckily, they get to start Matt Cain tomorrow. This will be Cain’s second start of the season. He did a decent job in his first start allowing no runs, striking out five, and giving up only three hits and four walks in less than six innings of work. That was against the Dodgers. Against the Padres he might not be so lucky.

Not only that, but Maddux for some reason always throws well against the Giants. Since 2003, Maddux is 5 and 0 with a 2.83 ERA against San Francisco. Maddux did give up four runs and six hits in his first start of the season, however.

No worries. All that means is that Mad-dog is going to come out on fire. He’ll find the awful offensive batting line-up that wears those San Francisco Giants’ jerseys to his liking. I expect Maddux to throw a great game.
