MLB Baseball Betting - San Diego Padres vs. Atlanta Braves

The San Diego Padres travel to Atlanta to take on a Braves team that currently sits 1.5 games behind the Florida Marlins for first place in the N.L. East. Yes, those Florida Marlins. Atlanta is still in this thing.

The same cannot be said for the struggling San Diego Padres. Some BetUS online baseball betting fans may have already written the San Diego Padres off. I mean, they showed a lot of promise going into this season but they are already 10 games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks for first place in the N.L. West. The Padres just can’t score enough runs to contend in the National League.

San Diego sends pitcher Randy Wolf to the mound. Like almost every pitcher in the Padres’ rotation, Wolf will come out and do well. He has an ERA of 3.57 and a record of 2 and 1. The fact that his record is only 2 and 1 this season, which points to quite a few no decisions, tells me that the Padres have an issue with their middle relief and their closer, Trevor Hoffman. Many an online wager has been lost because of Hoffman’s inability to close the deal so far this season.

Unfortunately for the Padres, the Braves send out their ace, Tim Hudson. Hudson has a 4 and 2 record and an ERA of 2.95. Hudson is terrific and the fact that he gets to play one of the worst hitting teams in the majors will only make him tougher in this game.

Here are the BetUS MLB online betting odds for this game.

San Diego Padres

Randy Wolf – L + 1 ½ - 140 + 150 O 8 ½ - 115

Atlanta Braves

Tim Hudson – R - 1 ½ + 120 - 170 U 8 ½ - 105

Here are a few significant trends regarding online wagers in today’s game.

The San Diego Padres are 1 and 4 in their last 5 overall games.

The Atlanta Braves are 4 and 0 in their last 4 overall games.

The Atlanta Braves are 4 and 1 in Tim Hudson’s last five starts as the favorite.

The Over is 7 and 2 in the San Diego Padres last 9 games as an underdog.

I’m tempted to place on online bet on the over in this game for the simple fact that the Braves could explode on the Padres at any moment. But the online baseball betting odds just aren’t to my liking.

I much rather prefer to take Tim Hudson at – 1 ½ runs in this game. I do believe that the Braves will get to Randy Wolf for at least three runs. Once the Padres send in their middle relief this thing could turn ugly.

Hudson will keep the Padres from scoring any runs for at least five to six innings. He may not even need to blank them as, like I wrote above, the Padres middle relievers will help Hudson and the Braves out tremendously in this one.

I’m willing to put make an online sportsbook wager on Tim Hudson for the Atlanta Braves at – 1 ½ runs and + 120.
