MLB Baseball Betting Odds - San Diego vs. Philadelphia

The Padres are on a terrible online betting losing streak. They’ve dropped 11 out of their last 13 games. You can’t just win in the National League with terrific pitching anymore. Even though there’s a guy named Jake Peavy on this team, if he doesn’t get run support, giving up 1 run in six or seven innings is meaningless. Eventually, your team will lose the game. Check out these recent games that the Padres have lost - - on April 23rd 3 to 2 to the Giants, on April 24th 1 – 0 to the Giants, on April 27th 2 – 1, with Peavy pitching, to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

They send Chris Young to the mound tonight. As good as Young is, he will have a hard time winning this game for the simple fact that the Padres rarely score runs. One of their players, outfielder Scott Hairston, broke out of an 0 for 35 slump in the Padres’ last game by hitting two home runs. Yet the Padres manufactured only four runs in that game and lost to the Phillies seven to four.

I don’t have a whole lot of faith in Phillies’ pitcher Jamie Moyer, but at least I know he will get the run support that he needs.

Here are the BetUS online betting MLB odds for this game.

San Diego Padres

Chris Young – R + 1 ½ - 200 Ev O 9 ½ Ev

Philadelphia Phillies

Jamie Moyer – L - 1 ½ + 170 - 120 U 9 ½ - 120

The thing that is most disturbing from an MLB betting point-of-view is how the San Diego Padres pitchers have sort of fallen into a funk because of the lack of run support that they are receiving. For instance, usual stalwart BetUS online sportsbook stud Chris Young is 1 and 2 this season with an ERA of 3.77. The lack of run support is chiefly to blame. I feel bad for Young.

But I don’t feel bad enough not to bet against him in this spot. I just don’t see how the Padres manufacture more then one or two runs in this game. They got four runs in their last game getting four or more runs in back-to-back games just won’t happen for this team.

The best online wager above is taking Jamie Moyer – 1 ½ + 170 against the Padres in this game.

The BetUS sportsbook MLB Betting odds on Jamie Moyer for the Philadelphia Phillies in his game against the San Diego Padres is – 1 ½ runs + 170

I’ll give up the run and a half because no matter how good Chris Young is, he won’t get the run support he needs. To me, this is the most logical online wager to make.
